One Year of Love: My Samoyed Turns One

Updated: May 3

Yesterday, my baby turned one. One year old — 12 months of pure love, fluffy hugs, tail wags, and the kind of joy only a dog can bring into your life.

To celebrate, we did exactly what made her happiest: we spent the entire day by the river. No rush, no distractions. Just us, surrounded by the sound of the water, the warmth of the sun, and all the love in the world.

She had a pup cup, a little chicken picnic, and the biggest smile on her face the entire time. She splashed in the water, rolled in the grass, and greeted every human and animal like they were her long-lost best friend. Because that’s just who she is — the kind of soul who believes everyone deserves love, and everyone should stop to pet her.

And then, after the best day a pup could have, she came home, curled up beside me, and fell asleep — her head on my foot, the way she always does when she wants to remind me, I’m here, and I love you.

She is the sweetest dog on earth. She doesn’t just love people — she needs them. She needs to be your friend, to nuzzle into your hand, to win your heart and then demand gentle pets for the rest of the day. And honestly? It works. Every single time.

It’s hard to believe she is one. She’s already given me a lifetime of memories in these past few months. Her heart is big, her spirit is bright, and every day with her is a gift I never take for granted.

So here’s to you, sweet girl. To one year of life — and a future full of adventures, rivers, belly rubs, and all the love you can handle.

Happy birthday, my marshmallow cloud. You are so loved. 💙
